SUMMARY:Seeking Resiliency: A Lancaster Suicide Prevention Coalition Conference
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a day at Eden Resorts while we focus on Resiliency and how it can help us move forward in our mission of Suicide Prevention. Those who cannot join us on site are welcome to log in virtually for the morning session. \nWe will start with a hearty breakfast to nourish us all as we delve into a morning of knowledge that will connect us\, mind\, body and soul. \nSession 1: ($65) in-person ($50) virtual \n8am – 12:15pm (breakfast and registration to begin at 7:15) \nSession 2: ($30) in-person \n1pm – 3:30pm (lunch to begin at 12:30pm) \nSession 1 \nResiliency through Mental Wellness: Meet our nationally recognized Key Note speaker\, Dr. Sally Spencer-Thomas as she presents ‘Up on the High Wire: Cultivating Mental Resiliency to Get Us through Tough Times’.  Dr. Spencer-Thomas was a lead author on the National Guidelines for Workplace Suicide Prevention. \nResiliency through Hope: Meet speaker Heidi Bryan\, as she presents ‘Choosing to Live’. Heidi is an attempt survivor and founder of Feeling Blue Suicide Prevention Council\, now Prevent Suicide PA. Ms. Bryan has used her experience to serve on the Directors for the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention and as the Vice Chairman of the Board for SPAN-USA \nResiliency through Education: Meet multiple panelists comprised of Lancaster’s mental health educators as they talk about ‘Suicide Prevention Education: Not One Size Fits All’. Participate in a moderated discussion about suicide prevention and the education that different members of our community may need. \nSession 1 will offer 4 continuing education credit hours through Temple University for the following: LCSW\, LSW\, LMFT\, & LPC \nSession 2 \nQPR \nJoin us in the afternoon for QPR. We will be offering an opportunity to take this evidence-based suicide prevention class for those who are interested. \nQPR stands for Question\, Persuade\, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year\, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question\, persuade\, and refer someone to help. For the individuals signed up for this portion of the conference\, lunch will be included. \n\n	Notice: JavaScript is required for this content.
