Gun Lock Project

In partnership with Penn Medicine and the Sheriff’s Office, MHALC is proud to announce our new “Gun Lock Initiative“.

This work, performed by the
Lancaster County Suicide Prevention Coalition, will aim to provide gun locks to those with a firearm in the home and will focus on the following:

Suicide Prevention: Offering crucial tools and resources to reduce the risk of firearm-related suicides.
Veteran Firearm Safety: Supporting our heroes with specialized safety measures designed for their unique needs.
Children & Adolescent Firearm Safety: Ensuring a safe environment for children with cutting-edge locking mechanisms and educational resources.

Join us in making responsible gun ownership AND safety a priority.

External Resources

Gifford’s Law Center: A webpage dedicated to outlining gun laws per state that also highlights the numbers surrounding gun violence in America and provides wonderful external resources surrounding firearm safety and intervention.
Pierce’s Pledge National Firearm Storage Locations: A non-profit organization whose mission is to keep children safe during the stressful and emotionally volatile time of custody disputes. We believe that by storing guns outside of the home during these times, we can do just that.
